The North Calotte Council

The North Calotte Council is a Nordic cross-border cooperation organisation funded mainly by the Nordic Council of Ministers. Highest regional development authorities and representatives of business associations are members in the North Calotte Council.

The North Calotte Council provides funding for innovative Nordic cooperation initiatives which address the selected focus areas of the Council. These include:

• development of joint Nordic business and labor market and promotion of cross-border mobility
• development of shared service solutions across national borders
• removing obstacles which hinder cross-border cooperation
• securing and safeguarding the sensitive North Calotte nature and environment
• sharing experiences between the Nordic countries.

Information for the applicants

The funding from the North Calotte Council can cover 50% of project's total costs. Multilateral projects with participants from Finland, Sweden, and Norway, are prioritized. Funding can be applied throughout the year, and the decisions are usually taken within 6 weeks from the submission of the application. The North Calotte Council can also grant national match funding for Interreg V A North projects.
